OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF ZECHARIA SITCHIN
http://www.sitchin.com/ *
Last updated: 2005
Official website of author Zecharia Sitchin, created by Erik Parker

This website provides many links to articles and books written by Sitchin. It also offers a tour schedule and promotes his newest appearances and magazine publications. Additionally, it provides a mailing address for people to contact Mr. Sitchin. Multiple links allow the reader to navigate through articles on various subjects from "Extraterrestrials? The Vatican said `yes'..." to discussions of tidal waves; as well as many links to Sitchin's alien astronauts hypotheses.

* For an official site, there is very little important or useful information on this site.

SITCHIN IS WRONG.COM
http://www.sitchiniswrong.com/
* Last updated in 2005
Website created by Dr. Mike Heiser, member of: The Evangelical Theological Society, The Society of Biblical Literature and The Near East Archaeology Society

This website claims to be "an honest appraisal of Sitchin's works by someone trained in these fields" and it certainly lives up to its hype. Mike Heiser presents an interesting analysis of many of Sitchin's claims, meticulously discussing the many mistakes Sitchin has made and suggesting that Sitchin is NOT fluent in any of the languages he claims expertise in. Heiser primarily applies linguistic analysis to Sitchin's claims, which he is entitled to do, as Dr. Heiser has earned his Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Ancient Semitic Languages at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Heiser also has challenged Sitchin to a debate and been refused.

* Very informative site - no exciting grapics or dazzling text, just a reality-check of Sitchin's work.

SUMERIAN MYTHOLOGY FAQ
http://home.comcast.net/~chris.s/sumer-faq.html *
Published in 1992, Updated in 2000
Webpage created by Chris Siren, a physics instructor answering questions about myths

This website is dedicated to the myths and legends of Sumeria. Although the creator is a physics tecaher, and not an expert in mythology, she provides excellent resources and information to help an amateur better understand some of the claims being made by Zecharia Sitchin by allowing for a better overall understanding of Mesopotamian gods and goddesses.

* VERY interesting and informative site, complete with multiple links and an extensive bibliography.

THE TALK.ORIGINS ARCHIVE
http://www.talkorigins.org/ * Published in 1998 and Updated in 2005
A collection of archives about the origin of life

Any discussion of Sitchin is bound to lead to his ideas about how homo sapiens were created by mixing alien DNA with that of homo erectus. As such, I included this site as a source because "the primary reason for this archive's existence is to provide mainstream scientific responses to the many frequently asked questions" regarding evolution. This website offers current theories regarding the origin of the human species, as well as theories on hominid evolution that do NOT include alien genetic engineering.

* This site is one of the best I have ever found on human evolution and it is updated so frequently that it        already includes a page on Homo floresiensis

THE BRITISH MUSEUM: MESOPOTAMIA ONLINE LEARNING
http://www.mesopotamia.co.uk/
* Last updated in 2004
Educational webpage created by the British Museum

This website provides information on the geography, gods and goddess, and writings of Mesopotamia and the ancient NearEast. Information provided is basic, but it offers a decent overview, as well as links to some of the artifacts on display at the British Museum in London. The main website for the British Museum is informative, easy to navigate and chock full of descriptive details and photographs.

* Primarily created for children to use as a resource, this site is not just useful for looking at information on     Mesopotamia.

THE SKEPTIC'S DICTIONARY
http://skepdic.com/contents.html * Published in 1994 and Updated in 2005
Suppliment to the book The Skeptic's Dictionary:
Created by Robert T. Carroll

This is an awesome website for almost any subject. The Skeptic's Dictionary began with about 50 entries in 1994 and has grown exponentially. It includes pages and entries from people all over the world who are interested in a true skeptical analysis of various fantastic (and not so fantastic) claims. As per the introduction page, "the Skeptic’s Dictionary provides definitions, arguments, and essays on subjects supernatural, occult, paranormal, and pseudoscientific" and  as such, it is an excellent resource for anyone.

* This has been one of my favorite websites for years, so I was delighted to find entire sections devoted to      Sitchin and the Alien Astronaut Hypothesis. This website does not pull punches and it provides myriad          links and articles to assist people in searching for answers.

COAST TO COAST AM
http://www.coasttocoastam.com/search_results.html?query=sitchin&x=0&y=0 * Last updated in 2005
Official website of AM radio show "Coast to Coast AM", hosted by George Noory

This website is the official site for a popular nightime radio show which examines paranormal claims and allows guests to discuss personal experiences with so-called "experts" in the field of paranormal research. It is most famously known for having guests who claim to have been abducted by aliens. Zecharia Sitchin has been a frequent guest, and on this site, one can read transcripts and also listen to past shows using RealMedia player and Windows Media Player.

* This site is informative because it shows how many people believe the claims of alien astronauts and alien      abduction. It's interesting to listen to past shows and hear Sitchin speak about his claims.

LOST CIVILIZATIONS UNCOVERED
http://jcolavito.tripod.com/lostcivilizations/index.html * Published in 2001 and Updated in 2004
Various articles published by a Journalist/Anthropologist: Created by Jason Colavito

This website "explores the connection between fact and fiction", but it includes a section called "From Cthulhu to Cloning: A critical examination of the role Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos played in setting the stage for the ancient astronaut hypothesis with an emphasis on the connections among `alternative' authors", so it is done in a fun way. Colavito holds degrees in Anthropology and Journalism and has published articles for Skeptic Magazine and Humanist Network News. His no-nonsense approach to addressing the Ancient Astronaut Hypothesis make this website an enjoyable and informative read.

* The articles on this webpage are well-written and thought-provoking. And Colavito knows who Cthulhu is, so      that's always a bonus!

THE MUSEUM OF UNNATURAL HISTORY
http://www.unmuseum.org/unmain.htm * Published in 200s
Website for "unnatural history": Created by Lee Krystek

This is just a FUN website. Lee Krystek (a software engineer) wanted to start a museum "that would explore the fringe edges of science and at the same time use those subjects to get people interested in the more mundane aspects of scientific work". He could not afford, not did he have the resources for, an actual brick and mortar museum, so he created this website. Sections on UFOs, Ancient Astronauts and Odd Archaeology tie this website into my research on Sitchin.

*  I ended up spending hours just tooling through the UnMuseum. There is a lot of information presented in a      very fun way.

THE GALACTIC CONNECTION AND THE ANCIENT ASTRONAUT THEORY REVISITED
http://galacticconnection.com/index.htm * Published in 2002 and Updated in 2004
Webpage for "The Galactic Connection": Created by William L. Saylor

This website gets off to a good start by attempting to address the Ancient Astronaut theories with something resembling scientific inquiry. It veers off course when it claims that anthropologists do not know how monumental architecture was created, and suggests that there are "multiple clues" that sugest we should all accept the Ancient Astronaut Hypothesis. This site is useful because it demonstrates how easy it is to apply scientific method and Occam's razor incorrectly to persuade others of a theory. Read it all the way through - it's very nearly convincing!

* The target audience seems to be fence-sitters (in the wrong direction) regarding the AA  Hypothesis.
