Warning signs that you may be a victim of a Cyberbully:
- Receiving malicious e-mails, chat communication, text messages, etc.
- Be suspicious of online "friends" that want to meet you in person.
- "Friends" avoiding you at school, in the neighborhood, or online.
What can you do?
- Remember that you are not alone! Assistance is available and there are ways to stop the harassment.
- The abuse is not your fault!
- Report any malicious or harassing e-mails, chat
communication, text messages, or instant messages to a trusted adult (
parents, grandparents, teachers, counselors), as soon as possible.
- Save all communications or messages which are malicious or harassing. (Tips for saving messages)
- Never agree to meet an online "friend" in person.
- Treat others that you communicate with online with respect and kindness as you would want to be treated.
