- Depression

- Not wanting to leave the house
- Thoughts of or attempted suicide
- Spending long hours on the Internet
- Trouble sleeping
- Acting out aggression at home
- Lowered self-esteem

What can you do to help keep your kids safe?
- Know the Cyberbullying Terms and chat abbreviations.
- Educate your kids about the possible dangers of the Internet.
- If it can be determined that the cyberbully is a classmate, talk to school authorities.
- Be aware of how much time your kids spend on the Internet.
- Spend more time with your kids in other activities.
- If your kids receive malicious e-mails, chat
communication, text messages, etc., encourage them to save the messages

- Place the computer in a viewable, widely used area of the home.
- Instruct your kids never to respond
to a cyberbullies' messages or to communicate with unfamiliar "friends"
on the Internet.
- Communicate effectively and often with your kids, stay connected!
