Future Outstanding College and University Students
What
is FOCUS?
This program is
designed to identify and assist first-generation college students from
disadvantage backgrounds in services and activities that will help them achieve
their career and educational goals, graduate from high school and successfully complete
a postsecondary education.
Who
is Eligible?
The program is available to individuals referred by
teachers, parents, counselors, and self-referrals. All students participating
in the program must meet one or both of the following guidelines:
- A potential first-generation college
student (neither parent has a four year degree). All participants must
show potential for post-secondary success and must possess and maintain at
least a 2.5 GPA while in the program.
- Limited income (based on federal
guidelines)
